Despite earlier in the year local councils feared about allocating new casino sites, competition for the remaining casino licenses in the UK is proving fiercer than expected. Only in the London borough of Newham a total of six casino operators are in the middle of a battle to build one large casino. Meanwhile, large casino operators Grosvenor Casinos and Genting UK are competing for the Solihull license.

Market analysts consider that due to the current state of world economy and with pressure increasing in the United States, online gaming could become legal in the country as soon as by the end of this year. Online casino gaming has already been legalized in many other countries around the globe and many others are considering it.
